Veterans are invited to come learn about how to get access to benefits that pay for job training assistance Thursday.

Ivy Tech Community College is offering a free information session about the Veterans Retraining Assistance Program from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in Room B123 at its Bloomington campus, 200 Daniels Way. The program is part of the VOW to Hire Heros Act of 2011, and offers up to 12 months of training assistance to unemployed veterans between the ages of 35 and 60.

Attendees Thursday can learn about eligibility requirements for the retraining assistance program, talk to an academic adviser about the type of degree and career they want and received help in applying for the program’s benefits.

More information is available by calling at the Ivy-Tech Bloomington Veteran Services Office at 330-6012 or by contacting Kim Bloodgood at kwagner23@ivytech.edu.
