Youth art summer camps at Ivy Tech Waldron draw to a close, still time to register for final session

The final session for Ivy Arts for Kids summer camps at Ivy Tech Waldron begins on Monday, July 20 and registration is still open for children ages 4 to 11 years old.

The final camp session runs Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 31, and youth will create art using 2D and 3D media such as paint, pencil, and ceramics. Children in the Pre-K and Kindergarten Art class will explore the unique art of South America and create works of art in South American styles with games and activities. Elementary school-aged children in the South American Celebration class will create art influenced by Brazil, Peru and Argentina. They will also create musical instruments.

Morning and afternoon options are available in partnership with City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation’s Kid City summer camps. Children can participate in Ivy Arts for Kids from 9 a.m. until Noon at the Ivy Tech John Waldron Arts Center, and spend the afternoon at Kid City from Noon to 4 p.m. Another option is spending the morning at Kid City from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the afternoon at Ivy Arts for Kids from 1 to 4 p.m.

Fall offerings for Ivy Arts for Kids classes will open for registration in August.
