International Education Week celebrated

BLOOMINGTON – Ivy Tech Bloomington observed International Education Week Nov. 12-16 with educational activities, a documentary, a poetry reading, and more.

On Nov. 13, students, faculty and staff read poetry in English and other languages. International students shared their experiences during a panel discussion moderated by Ben Grimwood, international student academic advisor.

On Nov. 14, the non-narrative documentary Samsara, which offers imagery from around the world, was screened in the afternoon. This activity was organized by the Phi Theta Kappa student honor society.

On Nov. 15, students learned about various international education resources available at Ivy Tech.

All week, students participated in an international library contest and interactive world map. In the library, students wrote about their favorite movies featuring global locations to be entered into a prize drawing. Students wrote and pinned photos and stories onto an interactive map of the world to show where they have traveled and where they would like to visit.
